Woman
Today, I'm sitting here thinking to myself, when I gave my mother her nickname: Woman.
I can't remember when I did it. It was, at least, 10 years ago. Yeah, yeah I know. It sounds a little weird but our relationship is anything but typical. It's different though, which is why I think she hated it, at first. I keep having to explain it is not demeaning or perjorative. In my strange way, it's meant as a term of endearment. Finally, it grew on her but I still don't think she actually gets it.
Woman knows what I will say and do before I do. This is quite a feat as I would like to believe my decisions are either quite spontaneous or individual. But every time she predicts my thoughts or feelings on a subject with extreme accuracy. Me and Woman have been through some rough and tumble times together. No need re-hash all that stuff here. It just should be noted.
What feels like most recently, she gave us all a cancer scare. Gladly, gratefully, she came through it and has been free of the 'Big C' for two years now. YAY! So why am I thinking about all this today?
Well, it's her birthday.
Back on Valentine's Day a good friend of mine sent me a video clip of John Lennon. When I heard it, it resonated with me for reasons I think you'll get. It's precisely why I named her, Woman. She is special to all who know her. For me, she is the woman in my life who means everything to me and will forever remain the only woman who does.
Since I haven't been able to convince her of the profound meaning behind her name, I figured, I'd let the genius who put it into song sing it for me, especially since I can't carry a tune two steps. I think it's a language she'll finally understand.
Happy Birthday, Woman.

Just a few weeks from the BIG day with Mr. Big and I thought of you and NYC. I Heart NYC. Serendipity will have to wait, but hey, was a good thing for a spin there.
Be well and GO SEE THE MOVIE. I'm drinking Cosmo's before I head in. "Why did we stop drinking these," Miranda asks. "Because everyone else started," Carrie replies. Do Doo Doo Doo, Do doo do dooo. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, dingdingding. Ok..enough of my soundtrack translations. A toast to the Carrie Bs!
Sending a smile...

I have no intention of missing the movie I've waited years to see...and Serendipity has been there for decades, it's not going anywhere. I'll enjoy my frozen hot chocolates in due time.

Happy Mother's Day to you too, Mannie.
Funny thing is, I don't think she's been by yet. *SMH* Well, it will be here if and when she decides she's bored enough to come check it out. LOL.
Thanks for swing by though. It's always great to have ya.

I must add I am please you didn't put Helen Reddy singing "I AM WOMAN," on this site.
Have no idea why but when Helen signs the hair stands up on my head.
You are a great daughter Lil Lo!
